Snow leopards are native to mountainous terrain in central and south Asia. Their gray and cream coloring helps these stealthy predators blend into surroundings. Woodland Park Zoo partners with the Snow Leopard Trust, which is based in Seattle and was created in 1981 by a former WPZ staff member, to protect vulnerable snow leopards. We are expanding protected areas, reducing poaching, and encouraging coexistence through the promotion of eco-friendly livelihoods.
